- Undergraduate Major in Food Sciences
Establish a strong base in the fundamental principles of biology and the physical sciences and then learn to apply them to ensure the nutritive value, safety and quality of foods. Our students also take courses in social sciences, humanities and communications to add breadth to their education. One-hundred percent of our graduates are placed in careers or graduate school after completing our program.
- Graduate Field of Food Science and Technology
Cornell University offers outstanding educational and research opportunities for advanced studies in food science. Our program boasts of a large, internationally recognized faculty with a broad range of expertise, an excellent selection of courses in basic and applied sciences, and modern, well-equipped research laboratories and pilot plant facilities.
- Summer Scholars Program
Undergraduates can gain research experience and learn about career opportunities in this 10-week summer program that is administered jointly with the University of Massachusetts’ Department of Food Science.
- Enology and Viticulture Program
Study in one of the top viticulture and enology programs, internationally recognized for its expertise in breeding table, juice and wine grapes adapted to cool-climate growing regions. The enology concentration provides a strong foundation in food science and chemistry, while exposing students to the latest developments and technologies in wine-making.
- Food Science Club
An extracurricular club of undergraduate and graduate students, as well as faculty fellows, who interact and explore the many areas of food science to enhance student knowledge.
